Our Sabbath began with a bus and walking tour of downtown Lima, Peru including two cathedrals and the Peruvian President's palace.
From there we went to the home Church of one of the translators named Julie. We enjoyed an excellent service which was amazingly similar to worship at Sunrise other than the language it was presented in. We were even able to sing along to the Spanish praise songs by following the PowerPoint slides.
After a lunch of different International foods, we took a short bus ride to Reina de la Paz which is a home for thirty-seven teenage mothers and their babies. We started with a tour and orientation to the facility. We were then introduced to each mother and child. While initially the language barrier seemed insurmountable, we quickly discovered that the mothers were outgoing and accepting, and responded warmly to our smiles and interactions. With the help of the translators we were all able to begin to get to know each other. We had such an enjoyable visit that the time seemed to fly by.
After supper we spent the evening praying and preparing for the next day's activities. We are grateful for your prayers. Our team has really found unity as we do ministry together.
